About Us

By providing high-impact programs, supportive services, and first-class facilities in a caring and inclusive environment, Student Affairs provides students with a foundation for educational excellence at the University of Miami and prepares them for their personal and professional endeavors beyond the collegiate experience.

What is Student Affairs?

The University of Miami Division of Student Affairs engages, supports, and develops University of Miami students as active citizens in a diverse and global society. Student Affairs efforts extend learning beyond the classroom to provide students with experiential opportunities to challenge ideas, collaborate with others, and apply their skills to make a difference in their lives and the community.

Guided by the Canes Care for Canes philosophy and its Strategic Plan, Student Affairs fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where all Canes respect and support each other. With its student-centered approach, Student Affairs makes a significant and lasting impact on the student experience at the University of Miami and beyond.

The Division of Student Affairs engages, supports, and develops students and the University community by providing exemplary services, programs, and facilities in a caring and inclusive environment.

The Division of Student Affairs will develop and challenge all students to become engaged citizens in a diverse and global society.

Student Affairs employs four core values to guide its strategy development and execution. The work of Student Affairs must be:

  • intentional
  • collaborative
  • connected
  • responsive
